SEO HACKS: Dos and Don’ts for writing a fully optimized content

Add location. In 2015, Google killed its location search filter which made simulating a local search from a different city became a tough task. You cannot just add location to the keywords. To simplify this problem, SEO’s can take either of the following steps:

 

  1.  Add near.  After typing in a query modify the URL by adding “&near=cityname.” This draws results as if you’d searched from near that location.
  2.  Adjoin your search with a base64 encoded form of the “Canonical Name” of a location called the “uule” parameter.
  3.  Use software which uses GPS coordinates to give most accurate results.
  4.  Maximize link building opportunities. To score some high-quality back links, the easiest way is to help site owners find and fix broken links in their content.
  5. Discover back link opportunities by using competitor research. Figure out which sites link to more than one of your competitors, determine the relative domain authority of each of these and perform link outreach.
  6. Track your videos. To improve your videos, optimize your titles and metadata to be more clickable and include at least one keyword, creating unique thumbnails, and transcribe your video text to help YouTube’s indexing.
  7.  Optimize images. Reduce the file with a tool that preserves image quality and also format it properly (usually .jpg or .png).

Don’ts:

  1. Avoid vague names as it slows the growth of your brand recognition and rankings.
  2. Don’t tie yourself to a name that limits you. If your business plan includes growth into other service offerings or other geographic markets, use core keywords in your business name.
  3. Don’t ignore user-generated content policy for your website as it may end up in spammy or abusive use of your blog/forum comments.
  4. Don’t use strange URLs. Even today .com extensions are the most recognized domain name. If you want consumers to easily remember and easily find your website, get a .com whenever possible.
  5. SEO is all about helping you appear whenever there’s a chance for your company to gain recognition and maintain a position in the market.
